Rather than scrolling social media on the couch, I tried to compile some videos from the local media about the US 169 Buck O'Neil Bridge project and everything that is going on in addition to my more detailed post earlier this week. I will also remind you that if you haven't lately, you need to visit the www.beyondtheloopkc.com website and take the survey on the concept strategies being discussed about the bridge and the north freeway loop.
Yesterday the KCMO City Council did quite a few good things that were overshadowed by KCI Airport.
Lost in today's shuffle @joliejustus sponsored Ordinance 180102 which fully funds the Armour Rd protected bike lane project. KCMO City Council to hear next week for approval. https://t.co/ujZATV0sWH

The biggest one was this one.
KCMO City Council just approved Ordinance 180068 which completes funding package for 2018 short term rehab & environmental study needed for new 169 Buck O'Neil bridge@BeyondTheLoopKC https://t.co/fCklWeO0jh

What does that mean? Well it means that work will begin this summer on a short term fix and the environmental document (I thought Trump was going to blow up these needless federal bureaucracies) for a new US 169 Buck O'Neil Bridge. Watch this dude (who must have a lot of kids because he seems to have less and less hair every time I see him on TV) explain what this all means. I also uploaded an audio for you podcast people.
Here are some local media stories. I'll leave out the credit citation because they all have their logos in the video and I'm embedding from their YT sites. Everything on this project is fluid. I mean a year ago, we had nothing and now we've got a plan in place to fund a new bridge so things change and some of these stories are six+ months old but it will give you an idea of everything being discussed.
I also encourage you to check out and bookmark MoDOT's US 169 Buck O'Neil Bridge project webpage. MoDOT KC staff have stepped up their game on a lot of things and have a ton of information to share about things they are working on.
