My alternate title was going to be "Crappy post WWII Vivion Road strip mall to get makeover" but that wouldn't have narrowed anything down. The Country Club Shops which has been sitting vacant for some time has someone looking at a redo.
Here is what it looks like today (and I notice it had a Jay "I supported the largest tax increase in Missouri history" Swearingen campaign sign).
The proposed redo looks like it has a gas station component.
The biggest change will be a new facade.
Not sure when or if it will happen. Appears from the zoning application it has a "UR" designation which in KCMO planning speak means Urban Renewal which means some sort of tax abatement plan. Since it's in Clay County I really don't care as I've already spent enough brain power and time on this post but thought some of you might find it interesting.
