"Dad, when IS THIS GOING TO OPEN?"
You probably don't realize it but Anne Garney Park is a large (80+? acre) park off North Woodland and it is getting some attention and development. It has a circular asphalt walking trail and playground under construction. The park entrance is off North Woodland about a quarter mile north of Shoal Creek Parkway.
KCMO Parks and Recreation Landscape Architect Frank Gibbs deserves the kudos for the playground design. It has an ADA accessible portion to it and plenty of things to climb on. This is looking southeast from the top of the playground.
The playground has been graded so the ADA walkway leads up to the top platform. This is looking south.
This is a general view of the rope bridge between the ADA playground portion and the pyramid.
How do I know this playground will be a hit? It's got a climbing rock.
I'm not sure what the timeline is for opening but that thing will have twenty kids on it the first nice day in the spring.
