Taking the day off and since the wind was out of the south, I decided to go for a bike ride on the Line Creek Trail today and I was glad I did.
I had just gotten past the waterfalls and approached the old abandonded bridge along the trail when I saw a big bird coming up out of the creek and flying parallel to me.
I was kind of stunned for a second trying to figure out what it was. It didn't immediately occur to me that I would ever be this close to an eagle. Not wanting to pass up the opportunity to see exactly what it was, I stopped. Indeed it was a bald eagle on the Line Creek Trail right within the newest expansion of Frank Vaydik "Line Creek" Park right by Englewood Road.
I took some pictures with the crappy Samsung GalaxyTM phone camera.
I almost missed capturing this since it takes like 30 seconds for the stupid AndroidTM phone software to get to the point where a picture can be taken. Here's a shaky video of the eagle flying away from me.
Keep your eyes out and even though it is cold, it's never too cold to hike or bike on the Line Creek Trail.
