The trail connections shown on the map from 2012 have changed as design of the KCI and 152 Trails is underway. This bridge is a major missing gap in the Platte County trail system. The roadway approaches don't have shoulders and the lanes are narrow with limited sight lines. If you're brave enough to ride that (which I've done a couple times in the last month) then you have to get accross the bridge with only a 2 foot shoulder and a bridge railing that is under 3 feet tall. If someone isn't paying attention and a cyclist gets hit, it's a 20 foot drop into 6 lanes of I-29.
With this project, the 152 Trail will be safely completed and users will be able to get from the bike lanes and sidewalks on Congress and Zona Rosa all the way to Riverside.
