Things like this (besides the best school district in the KCMO region) are why I love living in Platte County. Just when you don't think things could get any more eclectic, this shows up along the east side of I-29 south of Tiffany Springs Parkway:
If you aren't cursing at all the construction at I-29 and Tiffany Springs Parkway and trying to avoid rear ending someone, you will see this old rusted out boat sitting on a pile of dirt by the new Holiday Inn Express™.
Here is what I know now. This property is owned by the dude that used to own the old Woody's Bar over near 64th Street and I-29. For long time Northlanders, you totally know the place I am talking about. For those of you that don't, Woody's was the cheesiest retro bar ever. I went there once. If any of you have any pictures of the place, please send them this way so we can share the cheese.
Back to the boat. It was sitting in front of the building south of the gas station for a couple of years. I first noticed that this place was different about 6-7 years ago when I was doing some campaign work. Someone had some type of closed welding art studio there and had a collection of metal junk all over the parking lot.
Now how the boat got there and what the purpose is? I don't know but when I find out, you will be the first to know. Until then, I wish MoDOT would put "WTH, WE DON'T KNOW EITHER" on their electronic highway message boards.
That. Is. Awesome.

My sister and I have been wondering about this boat for months! I thought I'd seem crazy to call embassy suites or a local place to inquire about this boat. Plz update us if you find out anymore info.
