The weather is gorgeous and you know you don't have anything better to do so....It would be a great night to catch a local high school football game. One of the things I've noticed living in a large city is that high school sports aren't the gathering place like they are in rural towns. The best part about a small town football game is the off to the side in the dark football game played by all the kids who are at the game. The important thing isn't the game, it's the fun had at the game.
If we had more kids going to games, maybe we'd have less partying going on in basements or other places.
It's mid-season and while all our teams aren't in first place, the kids always need encouragement and to know that we are proud of their commitment to play and finish the season no matter what the circumstances are. That's the great thing about sports as a learning experience. One learns how to deal with teammates both good/bad/selfish, screaming coaches/parents, blind/clueless referees, and how to handle disappointment/overcome obstacles.
In case you can't make it out, somehow the guys at the Northland Post have figured out a way to broadcast Park Hill/Liberty game. You can watch it here.
