I took four of the litter to the tail end of the Trent Green Family Field dedication yesterday. We happened to show up as Mr. Green was leaving and it was an hour and half after the ribbon cutting started.
What struck me the most was the number of people who were there and how giving Trent Green was of his time with them. He was still there talking to people who came up to him and giving pictures in the second hour of the event.
We all have choices with what to do with the blessings given us in this life and it's pretty freaking cool to see someone be able to use those blessings in a way that helps others and leaves a legacy rather than throwing it all away.
Unlike our elected federal officials, who forcibly confiscate our hard earned income and on whom oodles of money is spent lobbying them with lavish gifts who then turn around reward their cronies, Trent Green and his family is giving their own money to improve the lives of children with mobility limitations.
I also noticed that Mr. Green seemed rather shy and humble about the event which is awesome too. This is so unlike our federal officials who feast on the peasants praising them for being so wonderful to give us back our money. They are even so nice to let us name things after them.
Check out some of the pictures here.
I just want to say thank you Trent Green and your family for having a heart and giving our kids something that will create long lasting memories.
You really are a class act and Kansas City was very fortunate to have you here.
