Remember what North Congress south of Barry Road looked like in 2002? An two lane road with ditches and no sidewalks.
Remember how it was not easy to pull out of the pool/Congress Middle School entrance and go north on Congress because the hill at NW 81st Street blinded anyone speeding north along Congress?
Combined with park improvements done by Kansas City (thank you Russ Johnson and Nelsie Sweeney) and parking lot improvements done by Park Hill, Congress is now a safe street with sidewalks for people to access the school complex, park, tennis complex, and the all the residences to the south and east.
The road was improved with the passage of Platte County's 3/8th cent road and bridge sales tax. Without the County's tax, the road would still suck. Keep that in mind April 2nd.
