People have been asking me how I am going to vote tomorrow and I have been trying to figure out exactly what I am going to do. I think the best way to approach the election tomorrow is to vote a slate of candidates. Here are the Line Creek Loudmouth's recommended tickets for you to choose from:
The Spite Ticket: For those of you who feel disappointed with the Board in the past couple of weeks, this ticket would include the white power candidate, Ed Stephens, and the Hispanic know-it-all Fred Sanchez. Please note that my blatant sterotypes are just my observations from a handful of meetings I've been to which I am going to use to establish a trend. This powerful ticket would do nothing but bicker and annoy both the staff and the remaining board members for the next 3 years thereby causing some of them to not seek re-election or head off to early retirement.
The Union Chapel Ticket: This ticket would include the only 2 candidates who live WEST of Union Chapel Road, Allison Wurst and Chris Seufert, and would continue to keep the "nothing is wrong and everything is great" majority on the Board. This could also be labeled the "let's keep our heads in the sand" ticket.
The Occupy Park Hill Ticket: The theory from the Citizens for Park Hill Schools Facebook group is that you vote for Allison Wurst and Casey Beane even though Beane withdrew from the race for family reasons which readers of this blog LEARNED HERE FIRST. The Board would appoint a replacement who would only serve one year and they can get someone they like to fill out the other two years next April.
The Loudmouth's Friends Have Asked Him to Support Ticket: This ticket includes two people, Chris Seufert and Fred Sanchez, who have a long professional history with these candidates and specifically asked me to help with their campaigns which I declined because the NCAA tournament is the most important thing to do in March and I'd rather be out biking on the Line Creek Trail or trespassing.
The I Don't Know a Dang Thing About These People So I Am Voting For the Top of the Ticket Ticket: This ticket is that the majority of the people who tend vote (age 55+) will probably be voting tomorrow since they don't have kids but have the time to vote. The first two candidates listed are Fred Sanchez and Chris Seufert.
The Annoy the Loudmouth Ticket: This ticket includes the two candidates who served on the Board before, Fred Sanchez and Allison Wurst, but the fact that the previously served and are semi-incumbents just annoys me.
You will also see some other items on the ballot Tuesday. One of them is for Metropolitan Community College Board Sub-District #1 Trustee. I happen to know Bob Ashcroft and he has been great to work with and getting approvals to built the Shoal Creek Trail through Maplewoods Community College. I also have worked with Trent Skaggs dad, Bill.
There also is an election for Parkville Benefit Assessment Special Road District and Norm Beeman is a retired MoDOT employee and really really awesome guy and public servant.
