Is Powerplay going to the new Metro North Mall? I have no idea.
Here is what I do know. Powerplay sent out a Facebook post in April that they were opening a 50,000 square foot complex. That is a smaller big box store. The new grocery store at the northwest corner of I-29 and Route 45 is 85,000ish square feet to give you an idea of scale.
Where are the vacant small big boxes? There aren't any in Platte County because our income demographics are great (must be all those evil trails and road improvements or something). Liberty doesn't have any dark boxes (which is surprising given most of the area avoids the cluster screw that is 152 and I-35).
The only place with that size facility (near desirable demographics) is the Metro North area. I drove around and peeked in some stores. The old big blue electronics store at the southeast corner of Barry Road and US 169 had what appeared to be a carnival or lit style amusement machine.
